Dr. Eric Wenzel never has to think about how much he’s spending on practice supplies. His Burkhart Account Manager Kevin Hersom, does that for him.
Dr. Wenzel first began working with Burkhart Dental Supply about 15 years ago, and the Supply Savings Guarantee was one of the perks that convinced him to switch to the supplier. One benefit of the Supply Savings Guarantee, Dr. Wenzel said, is that vendors outside of Burkhart are part of the guarantee, too.
“It includes everything, which I thought was pretty amazing,” he said. “We review everything quarterly and determine what Burkhart needs to do and what I need to do to meet the goal. It’s also an opportunity for them to let me know about other services they offer, which I have taken advantage of over the years, such as the Practice Analysis (through Burkhart’s Practice Support Team).”
Early on, there were a few times Dr. Wenzel didn’t quite meet his goal and, true to their word, Burkhart wrote him a check. He never even had to ask for it. Then, they got to work to find more ways to save him money.
The Personal Touch
Dr. Wenzel noted that Kevin comes into the office once a week, but is always available for questions. “It’s nice to have a point of contact rather than just calling into a switchboard or sending an email,” he said. “There’s someone you can bounce ideas off. If there’s ever an issue with an order, I can easily return it. I also use Burkhart to purchase large equipment, so even though it’s a different department, I can reach out to my rep if I have an issue and find out who to talk to or how to get the issue addressed.”

Burkhart offers various services, such as Fee Analysis, which takes a deep look into how a practice’s fees stack up against industry standards and location.
They also are quick to fix any problems or answer equipment-related questions, Dr. Wenzel said. The Supply Savings Guarantee is the icing on the cake, making ordering supplies both easier and less expensive. In his opinion, there’s really no reason not to do it.
“It’s nice to have a vendor that takes things off my plate,” he said.
“If I have ideas on how I want to direct my practice, I have the opportunity to do a Practice Analysis. It’s nice to have it all under one umbrella. It makes everything so much more streamlined. And I really like not having to worry about my supplies.”
