Welcome to Eaddy Dental

Lakeway, Texas is a small city about twenty-five miles west of downtown Austin. Sitting on the south shore of Lake Travis, this scenic resort area is known for its clean, relaxed, and natural environment. So, it is no surprise that Dr. Daniel Eaddy, a Lakeway native, runs his practice the same way.

Dr. Eaddy’s father started his practice in Lakeway 25 years ago and was only one of three dentists at the time. Dr. Eaddy attended middle school and high school in Lakeway and went on to study at the University of Texas, where he pursued interests in chemistry and finance. Realizing that dentistry offered a unique opportunity to blend his love for science and business, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps, and learn from someone that he trusted. He also felt that dentistry could provide him with the autonomy to shape his career and life.

He joined his father’s periodontal practice after dental school and worked with him until his retirement. Around 2022, knowing the lease on the practice would be expiring in 2024, he began exploring new property options. A real estate broker introduced him to a development project that perfectly aligned with his timeline and that would give him the opportunity to be involved in the planning process from the ground up.

He had several goals for the new space. He wanted more operatories with room for expansion. He wanted a sterilization area that would flow well, and a streamlined supply restocking area that would be more efficient, without having waste or excess inventory. And he wanted to have a financial consultation area to be able to discuss cases and financial arrangements with patients in private.

He also wanted more space for his staff so that they felt like they had an area that they could go that was not in view of the public, with their own staff restroom, and his own office. Dr. Eaddy values efficiency, and the maximization of usable, operable space. He wanted to find the best way to get as many productive operatories in in the office as he could while also having the value-adds necessary for culture and the patient experience.

Dr. Eaddy worked with Burkhart Dental, bringing in his Equipment Specialist early on to collaborate with the architect, developer, and engineer. For the supply area, he worked with Design Ergonomics on a solution based on Six Sigma principles.

His office now has six fully functioning operatories and one clinical consultation room, along with a photography room for case presentations that could become a hygiene operatory in the future.

“[Burkhart] was really helpful as far as recommendations on equipment and…with the floor plan, working with the architect here, & the developer…everybody I thought put their heads together & produced a nice, nice result.”

Dr. Eaddy’s passion for continual improvement and patient care is evident in every aspect of his practice. He is currently pursuing accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), focusing on aesthetic and reconstructive dentistry. He is also currently working on creating systems for his office that are repeatable and efficient to allow him to focus more on delivering high-quality care.

“The challenge about dentistry to me is…I think I could be successful as a manager alone, but when you’re also the person that’s doing the labor, and producing the product, it’s hard to also be an optimal manager,” Dr. Eaddy explains.

“I’m learning & trying to create systems that are repeatable & can be implemented by anybody, so then I can focus on doing the things that are my skill set.”

Dr. Eaddy started seeing patients in his brand-new office in early December of 2024. As his practice continues to grow, Dr. Eaddy is committed to the patient’s experience. He built his new office space to feel more relaxed and comfortable. He wanted a clean, natural, and welcoming environment to reflect the quality of care provided.

Key Features of the New Office

  • A-dec Sterilization Center: A streamlined sterilization area with a clear dirty side/sterile side configuration.
  • Efficient Supply Management: A resupply restocking area designed for efficiency, with clear bins and labeled inventory in the same area with sterilization.
  • Staff Amenities: Private areas for staff, including a private restroom and a office for Dr. Eaddy.

“I want to continue to improve. I’ve got to improve, change and grow constantly or otherwise I’m getting worse, because the world around is always improving & changing…I’ve got to do the same.”

Lakeway may have more than three dentists now, but Eaddy Dentistry stands out with its dedication to patients, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
